1 John 4:13 says in this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, that He has given us of His Spirit.
The Spirit we have received is the processed Triune God. Although God is eternal and unchanging, He has nevertheless passed through the processes of incarnation, human living, crucifixion, resurrection and ascension.
Thus the Spirit we have received is this very processed Triune God who has been processed for us. Amen!
The almighty God who created the entire universe is no longer distant from us, but He has become a man named Jesus and He has died for us on the cross. And after three days He rose up and became a life-giving Spirit. And He has given to us of this Spirit to be one spirit with us.
It is by us exercising our mingled spirit that we can be assured that we are abiding in God and He abides in us. And as long as we are abiding in Him, He supplies us with all of His riches. Amen.
Many times in the training, however, I did not have a definite feeling or sense that the Lord was supplying me.
I was still troubled by different matters, although I’ve opened them up to the Lord. But the classes would always remind me that God is the Spirit. He is ready to dispense Himself into us.
So whenever I exercise my spirit by calling on His name and by pray-reading His Word, He is there infusing and dispensing Himself into me.
It is not a matter of how I feel, but as long as I take care of exercising my spirit, I need to have faith that he is there working Himself into me through every situation.
The key, the secret to abiding in the Lord is to be one spirit with Him, that is to live in the mingled spirit!
When we believed into the Lord Jesus, He came into us as a life-giving spirit to regenerate our spirit and dwell in our spirit.
First Corinthians 6:17 says, He who is joined to the Lord is one spirit. Now our spirit is joined to His Spirit. Hence, the divine Spirit and the human spirit have been mingled as one spirit.
We are one Spirit with the Lord. All our spiritual experiences, such as our fellowship with the Lord, our prayer to Him and our living with him are in this mingled spirit.
In the training there were times when I was troubled by something or I would simply feel dissatisfied inwardly without a reason. So I would go take a walk with the Lord, opening to Him often by singing with my heart to Him.
Through this, I was brought into my mingled spirit, even though nothing had changed outwardly.
But I found this answer in my spirit. In my spirit, the God of the universe has been fully mingled with me to become one with me, even me.
How could I not rejoice? What I truly need is just to enjoy His mingling with me more and more by spending time with Him. In this union, both the Lord and I are deeply satisfied.
God’s eternal purpose is to mingle himself with man. Only then will He find satisfaction and rest.
