I appreciate that our God is so wise, He knows what we enjoy – we enjoy food so He presented Himself as green pastures (Psalm 23), taste and see (Psalm 30). Your words were found and I ate them (Jeremiah 15:16).
So like Paul, we need to make an active choice (Heb 11:24-27) to see the unseen One.
By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, Choosing rather to be ill-treated with the people of God than to have the temporary enjoyment of sin, Considering the reproach of the Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he looked away to the reward. By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king, for he persevered as one seeing the unseen One. Heb. 11:24-27
Also, a Christian should be a joyful person – joyful in the Spirit. In Philippians 2:18, 27, 3:1, 4:10, we can see Paul rejoicing in every circumstance.
Phil. 2:18 And in like manner you also rejoice, and you rejoice together with me.
Phil. 2:27 For indeed he had become sick, near to death, but God had mercy on him, and not on him only but also on me that I might not have sorrow upon sorrow.
Phil. 3:1 Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, for me it is not irksome, but for you it is safe.
Phil. 4:10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly because now at length you have caused your thinking for me to blossom anew; for which matter you had indeed taken thought, but lacked opportunity.
We go through all sorts of challenges daily like Paul – in prison, sickness of close ones, persecution, but we can rejoice with the brothers.
